WoW: Rank 4 essences from Paragon crates get Bad Luck Protection

Randomness and luck are part of an MMORPG like WoW, just like classes and talents. But above a certain level, it can quickly get out of hand, leading to frustrated players. And of course, this doesn't just apply to getting important equipment, but also to earning collectibles that may not be all that relevant, such as pets, mounts, or toys. Rank 4 Essences probably fall into the same category. These have no influence on your playing strength, but make the respective effects of the essences visually more impressive. So it's not surprising that many players who either want to stand out from the crowd, or simply want to complete the collection, try to get these Rank 4 Essences. While these are quite easy to get for some by mastering special content in WoW, for others you just need luck. Because a handful of essences drop from the Paragon crates. And this is exactly where Blizzard is now helping your luck with the introduction of a Bad Luck Protection.

Blizzard
We're increasing the drop rate of Rank 4 Essences for eligible players as they open more Rustbolt Resistance, Ankoan/Unshackled, Rajani, and Uldum Accord Paragon caches. This change will also be retroactive and will count the Paragon caches that were opened in the past.

We're aiming to implement this change in the next day or two, we'll be sure to update the thread when the changes are live.

In practice, this means that Blizzard checks in the background how many crates you have already opened and increases the chance to get the essence with each new crate. Much like the bonus rolls in WoW (buy now 14,99 € ) have been done for a long time. However, it remains unclear whether this protection against a lack of luck will be evaluated for all Paragon crates in question or for each faction individually. It is also important to note that crates that have already been opened in the past will also be included. So many diligent players will quickly find their Rank 4 Essence in the next crate once the hotfix is live.
