WoW Shadowlands: Download of pre-patch is available in the launcher
It can't be too long before the WoW: Shadowlands pre-patch hits the World of Warcraft live servers. First, the final release of the expansion is scheduled for October 27, 2020 - just over a month from now. Second, in the last few hours, Blizzard has made the Shadowlands pre-patch available in the launcher for a preliminary background download.
If you disable the 100 KB/s limit in the options, you should be able to download the 20+ gigabytes pretty quickly, depending on your internet connection

Note that there is another option that automatically stops the download when you start a game in the Blizzard launcher.
But there is also a third hint that the pre-patch is coming soon. The developers have once again reached out to numerous fans with an email reminding them that some Battle for Azeroth content will soon be unavailable:
"It's time to defeat the Old God N'Zoth and secure the Unblighted Voidwing as your mount before it disappears, Karsten! Once Shadowlands releases on October 27, this Twilight Dragon and some other items will no longer be available. Other rewards, such as mounts from mythic raids, will also be harder to obtain from that point on - so you'd better hurry."
We had already speculated when the pre-patch for Shadowlands might go online. Since the final Afterlife episode will be released on September 17 and the pre-event is set to run for several weeks, we're still guessing September 23 or 29. What do you think?
