WoW Patch 8.3: Official preview of the changes to the auction house

Back in October, we presented the new World of Warcraft auction house in detail, which is supposed to be faster and clearer than the current version. But now that WoW Patch 8.3 is finally just around the corner, the people responsible at Blizzard didn't miss the opportunity to publish an official preview of the changes to the auction house on the WoW site.

We've restructured Azeroth's auction house to make it easier and faster for you to buy and sell the best and newest merchandise and equipment. After a thorough analysis of your usage of the Auction House, we have updated the way it works to suit your needs in daily use.

For buyers only

Trade goods (stackable items) are no longer sold as complete stacks. You can now specify the quantity you want and the auction house will automatically show you the cheapest auctions. Before you buy, you will be shown the price per unit as well as the total price. Since the cheapest auction items are always displayed first, you'll never have to dig through to find the best deal again.

You can also create a list of favorites by right-clicking on a listed auction item. This allows you to quickly search for items that you buy frequently. You can view and edit your favorites list using the favorites button (star icon) next to the search box. WoW Patch 8.3: Of course, there are also various filter options in the new auction house. Only for sellers

Auction items can now no longer be offered for copper, but only for silver and gold. Sellers can still set bid prices, buy-it-now prices, and the duration of an auction. When selling trade items, you now set the price per unit instead of for stacks of items. This allows buyers to select the exact number of items they wish to purchase.

Spring cleaning, please lift your feet for once

A few hours before maintenance, sellers will get back any unsold trade goods so we can move to the updated Auction House. Deposits for these items will not be refunded. But don't worry. Affected sellers will receive a warning message before they are ready to offer new items for sale. Once the time comes, no new merchandise can be offered for sale until the update is complete.

Non-stackable items are not affected.
