Time and again, players come around the corner with cool ideas for various Transmog sets or mounts, but they never get realized by the WoW developers. Then in September of last year, the devs approached at least a little bit of the idea of a mount from the community. In a poll, they presented the concepts for four different mounts and then let the players decide which one should become reality. The winner of the poll was the Wandering Urtum by a huge margin, and many players were already looking forward to getting a massive tree as a mount in Shadowlands. Since then, however, nothing has been heard from Blizzard about it.
At that time, Blizzard announced that the mount should be integrated into the game in the first quarter of 2021. So the developers still have time until March 31. Actually, no reason to worry too much about it. Nevertheless, the questions why there is so no new information on the part of Blizzard have been increasingly arising lately. Neither an announcement nor anything else has been released by the developers from California. So far, we don't even know what the mount will look like. This is unusual, as new mounts are usually found quite early by dataminers.
In principle, there are several possibilities as to what Blizzard has in mind. For example, they could save the unveiling of the mount for the upcoming BlizzConline on February 19 and 20. Or the plan is to bring the Wandering Urtum to the live servers together with patch 9.1. Whether that will come before March 31, however, is still unclear. The third possibility would be, of course, that the developers won't be able to bring the Urtum to the live servers on time. After the complete expansion was already postponed last year, this is not necessarily out of the question.
