WoW: When Silt Fist suddenly zigzags at you!

When guilds and groups face the eighth boss Silt Fist in the current WoW raid Castle Nathria, they tend to worry about their damage and healing rather than delving into the mechanics. This is because the boss has quite few of them, which are also quickly internalized and learned. One of the most important mechanics is to always lure the boss into one of the four pillars with his rush. Because if he hits the wall, the fight is over quickly and if he hits a player, then the player rarely gets up again.

Actually, this mechanic is pretty simple. When Silt Fist uses his Reckless Charge attack, the current tank hides behind one of the pillars, luring him in that direction. However, it gets stupid when Boss suddenly decides to just change direction in between and zigzag or charge around corners. This has happened to several groups in the past days and weeks and inevitably results in a wipe or at least some dead players.

Sometimes the boss only changes direction once and takes the waiting melee fighters with him, sometimes he simply decides to elegantly drift around the targeted column. This is where the WoW (buy now 14,99 € )

engine and especially the pathfinding AI once again show their weaknesses. But since the whole thing happens only rarely, the annoyance and frustration is kept within limits.
