WoW: Devilish Plans - Sylvanas, Dungeon Master and Kel'Thuzad in Video [Spoiler!]

In addition to the main campaign of WoW Shadowlands, there are four other pact stories, most of which are only available to players who have joined the respective pact. Some puzzle pieces of the story thus remain hidden from other heroes. For example, if you choose the Bastion as your pact, you won't hear much about the continuation of the Ardenwald story later on. To keep things from getting completely out of hand (BfA says hello!), Blizzard designed the Pact campaigns to function like a crossover episode every now and then. The point where the Venthyr and Necrolords campaigns cross over a good example of such an exciting story episode. Fitting for the opening of Naxxramas in Classic WoW, it's about the Warcraft lich Kel'Thuzad.

Caution, spoilers follow!

Since some classic Warcraft characters like Kael'thas and Kel'thuzad are connected anyway through the past events of Warcraft 3, it was only a matter of time before the two met in Shadowlands. Kel'thuzad wreaks havoc in Maldraxxus and seizes power over the House of Rituals, while Kael'thas is out for revenge for the destruction of Silvermoon. In the video we see the finale of a chapter of the Venthyr campaign (source: WoWhead).

So Kel'Thuzad is taken to the maw. What punishment awaits him there? Will he meet Sylvanas? Or will he serve the dungeon master as a slave? Another important part of the story is the connection between Kel'Thuzad and Arthas. The lich owes his second life to Arthas, and Kel'Thuzad served the lich king unconditionally until his death in Naxxramas. It is possible that the two will team up one more time in Shadowlands to escape the Maw. This would be a logical twist to the story, since neither belong in the dungeon master's realm.

Sylvanas and the Dungeon Master

There is also exciting news from the Maw. A video has surfaced in game data in which Sylvanas and the Dungeon Master discuss the fate of Anduin Wrynn. The young king is still trapped in the Torghast, and we still don't know what exactly the villain duo plans to do with Anduin.

The question is: Why doesn't Sylvanas come right out with her ultimate plan of truth? Surely that would immediately convince Anduin of her mission? Instead, we get to hear more vague statements and blunt half-truths from Sylvanas. She and the jailer want to destroy the existing order of the creators, that's clear. But why do they need Anduin? How and for what battle can he serve as a weapon for them? The young king has already proven several times in battle that he has perfect command of light magic. What the banshee queen doesn't know, however, is that Anduin's soul also has a dark side that he can't control as well as the light. So Sylvanas' plan to use the king as a weapon may well backfire.

We are definitely curious to see what role Anduin will play in the plan of the banshee queen and the jailer. Finally, it should be said that the story of the main campaign of Shadowlands still has a lot of gaps, which Blizzard's authors may only fill in the next WoW expansions.
